Engineers Week is a time to celebrate the work of our talented engineers and to inspire the next generation of innovators. This week we will feature a few of our Cyclone Energy Group team members. In keeping with this year’s theme, “Imagining Tomorrow”, we asked them to share their thoughts on how they are imagining the future.
First up is Aaron Kachler, who joined the team as a Building Analyst in June, 2019. A native of Guatemala City, Aaron graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering. As a Building Analyst, Aaron supports design teams by creating detailed energy models of new projects. In his free time you can find Aaron watching and playing soccer, running, biking and reading.
- Why did you want to be an engineer? I always knew that I wanted to be in the construction and built environment industry. I started studying finance thinking that I would go into that part of the industry, but as I started taking more challenging math courses the more I wanted to learn math. So I looked for a program that would allow me to learn advanced sciences and still be involved in the building industry, which led me to the engineering world.
- What is your coolest project experience? A very memorable project was my first LEED certified project I worked on. It took a lot of work and effort but once it got the LEED certification it was so gratifying to see all that hard work come to fruition.
- How are you imagining tomorrow? When I think about the future there is a quote that I like to keep in mind: “It is not incumbent on you to finish the task but neither are you free to absolve yourself from it.”
Happy Engineers Week from Cyclone Energy Group!
