As Sustainability Team Technical Leader, Karl is responsible for working with clients aiding them in sustainable and energy efficient building design and construction.

Prior to joining the Cyclone team, Karl was a Sustainability Consultant at WMA Engineers, where over the course of 4 years he managed sustainable design projects from small interior office build-outs to extensive renovations to ground-up high rise construction. Project teams Karl has been a part of have achieved various levels of LEED certification with the highest being the first Core & Shell Platinum certified building in Chicago under the LEED v2009 rating system.

A native of Laurel, MD, Karl attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Geography.

Professional associations/industry involvement and/or leadership and/or recognition, awards received: LEED AP ID+C, GGP (Green Globes Professional).

While he was growing up in Maryland, Karl was an active Boy Scout ultimately achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He is also a PADI certified Advanced Open Water and Wreck diver with his favorite diving locales being the Cayman Islands and the coast of North Carolina where many historical shipwrecks are found.
